Spectrometer Modules

Modular spectrometers include cooled and uncooled options and miniature modules for applications requiring portability.

New additions - the Exemplar Pro with highly sensitive, deep cooled back-thinned CCD array, and the Exemplar Plus LS high performance smart spectrometer which uses an aberration corrected concave holographic grating (acchg) to effectively eliminate stray light.

All B&W Tek spectrometer modules are now offered at a fixed price, no matter which detector, slit or grating combination is required. Just specify the internal components that best suit your application, and pay the same fixed price which includes software and cables.

Glacier X

The Glacier X is the smallest TE cooled spectrometer on the market, making it the perfect solution for applications that require high performance and portability. It is equipped with a 2048 element linear CCD array, built-in 16-bit digitizer, and high-speed USB 2.0 interface.

Compared to non-cooled CCD spectrometers, the Glacier X miniature spectrometer offers higher dynamic range, significantly reduced dark counts, and superior baseline stability, making it the ideal spectrometer for low light level detection and long-term monitoring applications. Wavelength configurations are available from as low as 200nm to as high as 1050nm with resolutions between 0.2nm and 4.0nm.

The TE cooling makes it possible for weak signals, such as fluorescence and Raman, to be integrated for sufficient time to accumulate measurable signals for detection, resulting in a far superior signal-to-noise ratio.

Sol 1.7

The Sol 1.7 is a high performance linear InGaAs array spectrometer, featuring 512 pixels with TE Cooling down to -5oC, all while providing high throughput and large dynamic range. Each spectrometer features an SMA 905 fiber optic input, a built-in 16- bit digitizer, and is USB 2.0 plug-and-play compatible. With our spectral acquisition software, you can select between High Sensitivity and High Dynamic Range mode within your pre-configured spectral range. Customized spectral resolution and application support are available.

The Sol 1.7 NIR spectrometer features extended wavelength and high resolution options, along with deeper TE Cooling, upgraded from +5°C to -10°C for lower noise and better stability. The spectrometer includes additional grating options, allowing for 18 additional configurations between 900 nm – 1700 nm, and resolution as fine as 0.35nm. Redesigned electronics for the Sol 1.7 allow this unit to operate with a 5VDC power supply.

Sol 2.2A

The Sol™ 2.2A NIR spectrometer is a high performance linear InGaAs array spectrometer with an available spectral range of 900-2200nm. Its 256 pixel detector provides high throughput and large dynamic range with TE Cooling down to -15oC via a built-in 3-stage cooler. The built-in autozero function automatically reduces dark current and dark non-uniformity, resulting in an increased signal-to-noise ratio. Software control allows you to choose from four types of operation modes; Maximum Dynamic, High Dynamic, High Sensitivity, and Maximum Sensitivity in order to optimize your spectrometer for your specific application.

The Sol 2.2A NIR spectrometer features a SMA 905 fiber optic input, built-in 16-bit digitizer, and is USB 2.0 plug-and-play compatible. This spectrometer is ideal for demanding applications in process monitoring, quality control, and materials identification.

Sol 2.6

The Sol™ 2.6 is a high performance linear InGaAs array spectrometer featuring 256 pixels and providing high throughput and large dynamic range with TE Cooling down to -15°C via a built-in 3-stage cooler. Each spectrometer features an SMA 905 fiber optic input, built-in 16-bit digitizer, and is USB 2.0 plug-and-play compatible. The built-in autozero function automatically reduces dark current and dark non-uniformity, resulting in an increased signal-to-noise ratio. Software control allows the user to choose from four types of operation modes: Maximum Dynamic, High Dynamic, High Sensitivity, and Maximum Sensitivity. Exemplar

The Exemplar® is the next step in the evolution of miniature CCD spectrometers. It is the first smart spectrometer featuring on board data processing, USB 3.0 communication, and temperature compensation. The Exemplar is also optimized for multi-channel operation featuring ultra-low trigger delay and gate jitter. Additionally, the Exemplar features a 2048 element detector and built-in 16-bit digitizer with greater than 2.0 MHz readout speed.

The Exemplar is ideal for most visible and near-infrared applications and is available in the following standard configuration: wavelength range of 350-1050nm, 25µm slit, an LVF filter, a ruled grating (600mm/400nm), and a spectral resolution of 1.5nm.

Exemplar LS

The Exemplar® LS is a smart CCD spectrometer optimized for low straylight by utilizing an unfolded Czerny-Turner spectrograph. It features on board data processing, USB 3.0 communication, and temperature compensation. The Exemplar LS is also optimized for multi-channel operation, featuring ultra-low trigger delay and gate jitter. Additionally, the Exemplar LS features a 2048 element detector and built-in 16-bit digitizer with greater than 2.0 MHz readout speed.

The Exemplar LS is available in the following standard configuration: wavelength range of 200-850nm, 25µm slit, an LVF filter, a ruled grating (600mm/250nm), and a spectral resolution of 1.5nm.

Exemplar Plus

The Exemplar® Plus is a high performance smart spectrometer utilizing a low stray light unfolded Czerny-Turner spectrograph. It features a highly sensitive TE Cooled back-thinned (BT) CCD detector which is linearly summed for high dynamic range. Its long focal length, coupled with a high quantum efficiency detector, provides superior data quality over the entire 190-1100nm spectral range. The Exemplar Plus features a high signal to noise ratio, making it ideal for low light level applications, and also features a built-in shutter allowing for dark scan measurements, even while illuminated. As a member of the Exemplar product line, it features on board data processing and USB 3.0 communication. The Exemplar product line is also optimized for multi-channel operation featuring ultra-low trigger delay and gate jitter.

The Exemplar Plus is available in the following standard configuration: wavelength range of 200-850nm, 25µm slit, a LVF filter, a ruled grating (800mm/250nm), and a spectral resolution of 1.5nm.

Exemplar Plus LS

Standard spectral configurations range from 180nm - 1050nm and resolutions range between 0.6nm and 6.0nm. Custom configurations are available for OEM applications.
