The OTFI-0100 from Excelitas is an LED fibre optic illuminator which couples high intensity white light from multiple LEDs into fibre optic light guides ranging from 3-10mm in diameter. It exceeds the brightness of a 150W halogen lamp, and provides an energy-efficient, maintenance-free alternative to halogen and metal-halide fibre optic illuminators.
Designed for microscopy, vision inspection systems, industrial borescopes and machine vision applications, the illuminator provides a consistent colour temperature over time and when the light is dimmed, resulting in a more consistent visual appearance. A very long lifetime of 25,000 hours is 125 times longer than that of a typical 150W halogen lamp.
