Raman spectra of carbon nanotubes

Raman microscopy with tunable laser and tunable Raman filter technology

Raman spectroscopy with multiple wavelength excitation.

- Optimise excitation wavelength to explore resonant properties of molecules.

- Access low wavenumber Raman shift, close to the laser excitation source.
(e.g. conformational changes; lattice mode vibrations; molecular bonds containing heavy atoms; and, rotational vibrations)

Photon Etc tunable filter technology enables rapid change of excitation wavelengths.

- Photon Etc filter technology provides excellent beam pointing stability during wavelength change over, therefore no need to re-align experimental set-up.

- Photon Etc filter technology is computer controlled and easy to use.

The Raman spectra of carbon nanotubes using a Ti:sapphire laser and tunable Raman notch filter are shown courtesy of Prof R. Martel, U. of Montreal

Raman microscopy with tunable laser source and triple grating spectrograph

Laser excitation passes through a tunable band pass filter (LLTF) for purification then on to the microscope objective for focusing on the sample. Raman signal is scattered back through the objective and beam splitter (BS) to the triple spectrograph which eliminates the laser line.

Raman microscopy with tunable laser source and tunable Raman notch filter

Laser excitation passes through a tunable band pass filter (LLTF) for purification then on to the microscope objective for focusing on the sample. Raman signal is scattered back through the objective and beam splitter (BS) to the Tunable TopNotch Filter which eliminates the laser line before entering the spectrograph.
